Enrique Iglesias was born on May 8, 1975 in Madrid, Spain to Julio and Isabel. He definitely followed the footsteps of his father to be a star and to achieve the sucess he has tasted till date but he never took the advantage of the incredible privilege in which he was born in, rather it was his own hard work with which he tasted stardom.

During his childhood his father was mostly away from home busy with his own music career. His mother also was distant as well, being a Madrid journalist. Enrique counted on the guidance of his nanny, Elvira Olivares, during his childhood in Miami. He moved from Spain to Miami when he was only 7, mostly because of terrorism threats in his home country, where his grandfather had been kidnapped just prior.

He performed in stage production of Hello, Dolly! and began writing songs while still a teenager, signing to the Fonovisa label. Enrique was quick out of the box. His success was immediate. His self-titled debut album, containing many of these early Enrique compositions, won a Grammy in 1997. His first album was a huge success and to date has sold over 6 million copies and his second album, Vivir, has also sold multi-millions. Enrique's talent stretches across several languages, having recorded in Italian, Portugese, English, and his native Spanish.
